Ayurvedic Self Massage AKA self ABHYANGA - video
Step by step self massage process..
Give your self the gift of health. It starts with self nurture.

1- KARNA PURNA: Ear treatment of warm sesame oil. Ideal after traveling as it calms down VATA dosha (movement) in the body and the entire nervous system. Benefits include: reduced itching, dryness and ringing in the ears. The removal of excess kapha impurities opens up the sinus region, reducing head colds and allergy symptoms and enhancing the sense of hearing. Karna Purana enhances clarity in Vishuddha, the throat chakra.
Lenght of treatment: 45 minutes plus a rest period. Cost: $75

2- ABHYANGA: An ancient treatment using warm oils (selected according to the body type) is designed to improve circulation, remove toxins, calm the nervous system and enhance immunity. This soothing massage allows the therapeutic qualities of the herbs and oils to penetrate deeply into your body promoting healing at the micro-cellular level.

4- SHIRODHARAA steady stream of warm oil which is continuously poured onto the forehead. The oil runs over your temples, scalp and down through your hair. This is a massage of the third eye and as you lay there, you won’t want to be troubled with detail, only with the restorative sensations as you drift and dream. - This is a deeply relaxing treatment which revitalizes the central nervous system, activates and regulates the brain, relieves mental tension, and induces a heavenly state of mind. Shirodhara gives best results when taken on the day following an abhyanga.

5- MARMA THERAPY
Re balancing of the entire system by way of stimulating the major Marma points in the body.
Meaning of Marma:
Secret, hidden, vital energy points located in the surface of the body. Tendency to cluster around the joints, middle/belly of large muscles, tendons, major lymph nodes.
·    Junction points where subtle life energy (un-manifested) becomes matter and where our thoughts come into physical manifestation. (Junction between consciousness and matter)
·    All Ayurvedic treatments are based in Marma therapy some way or another.
Also known as energy pathways for healing.
·    Most restorative therapy as is so gentle and passive in the body influencing the entire human body and all its systems down to cellular level.
·    There is about 84,000 marmas in the body but we mainly work with 107 / 117, 7 of them being the CHAKRAS, wheels of energy. Marmas are intimately connected to the chakra system. Marma is a doorway of consciousness, while a chakra is a reservoir of consciousness.

7- FACE AND FEET MARMA MASSAGE: Applying the same theory of the marma therapy, focus is on the face and feet where the nerve endings are stimulated with pressure and massage strokes alike.
Beneficial for tired eyes from strenuous computer work and/or standing for long periods of time.  It rejuvenates the entire body, stimulates cell regeneration, promotes youthfulness in the face and brings back natural glow.
Lenght of treatment: 1 hr with a rest period. Cost: $85

8- BASTI TREATMENTS: (Lower back, eye, heart, head, belly button) Basti mean bathing an area of the body in warm liquid, usually sesame oil as is the most penetrating or ghee.
The purpose of bating an area in warm liquid is mainly to draw AMA: toxins, to the surface of the skin as it penetrates the different layers of the body (we have 7 layers of the skin)
The general method is similar for each part of the body for the exception of the eye which is bathed in ghee.
Lenght of Treatment: 1 hr with a rest period. Cost: $85

9- NASYA (Nose Treatment) Good for all doshas-specifically Vata and Kapha.
The nose is the doorway for prana and the immediate access to the brain and our cognitive functions.
Nasya treatment stimulates the brain by giving a healthy shock to the cranial system. It can be mild or strong depending on the need. Mild for strengthening the sensory organs and strong for removing excess doshas. - Nasya has profound health benefits.
Lengh of Treatment 1 hr with a rest period. Cost: $ 80
